A little thing

Offending
Our Moroccan baker had meant so well. He is doing his utmost with an assortment that ranges from sliced granary via cheese croissants to baklava. Around Sinterklaas he’s got pepper nuts, and for the end of Ramadan, great bowls of sweet things. Trade is doing much for integration, and the neigborhood is glad for the daily fresh bread. But now the neighbors have complained. They call it offensive, the poster that the baker had stuck in the window for Easter. A fine reproduction of Da Vinci’s Last Supper, featuring the text: “Guys, I do hope this is Easter bread from El Morabet?”

I LOVE the POSTER…
got to ‘get these folks through the Enlightenment… when things were looked at from more than ONE perspective…
that last supper painting is one which has had many ‘plays’ made about it… washing of feet…passing of the wine or the bread…
would not make a ripple in LosAngeles…
